I grew up in San Leandro and cannot believe that the City is quibbling about dredging the Marina. San Leandro does not have many attractions that will bring in the public. A properly maintained and developed marina would attract shoppers AND boaters. As a boater myself, I have come to appreciate those marinas that have restaurants and shops within walking distance of the docks. In addition, the City would generate income through slip and launch fees. This seems like a no-brainer to me. It appears that San Leandro government has slipped into the same poorly considered management that is currently plaguing other Bay Area cities such as Vallejo. Whatever happened to GOOD management like we had for many years under Mayor Jack Maltester?
