  1. What a bunch of crap. I would like to see ECHO’s criteria for determining racism. I’m guessing looking at someone the wrong way qualifies. These are hard economic times, and in California property owners have little to no rights–and if people stop paying rent and go on welfare, you might lose 4 months of rent before legally kicking them out–and some bleeding-heart liberal judge might even rule they can live in your place rent-free! How about an on-time rent payment by race survey in San Leandro, instead of this crap? If you look at this town’s “demographic shift”–ethnic minorities don’t seem to have a difficult time getting housing in San Leandro.

And by the way, I was “discriminated” against for rental housing in 1996 in San Francisco–there was a low vacancy rate, and nobody wanted to rent to someone just out of college–even though I was a European-American with a decent income. Of course, if I were an ethnic minority, I could have filed a grievance and cried racism…
