In Late August, the City of San Leandro conducted a poll to take the pulse of the community and see if the public might be willing to pay any additional parcel or sales tax. Survey says we want more taxes. YOU LIE!
The city has $45K to spend on a consultant to figure out how to tax San Leandreans more, but didn’t want to pay $100K to protect children’s health and safety with crossing guards.
Why do we need a 100K?? Back in the day..we used volunteers to be crossguards…including the students themselves. We took took pride in helping our school and the city was solvent . We need to get back to that. This spending money we don’t have is a Boomer’s disease. You have bankrupted us. And it’s time to grow up and be responsible.
Why not a poll on whether we keep the San Leandro Hospital ER open? Safety services are essential and I’m sure that the city’s poll will pass, what about the 90 percent of the population who want the see the ER stay open?
